This year’s Met Gala had a theme that I especially loved and was super excited to see how everyone would interpret it. The theme of course was Punk: Chaos to Couture. Badass. One of the most common names circulating the red carpet were none other than Givenchy. Givenchy exudes that dark gothic chic style that totally fit in with the theme. And while some stars thrived with their punk-inspired couture, others either completely failed or just did not understand the theme itself. Here are a few of my favorites and some of the lamest.
Gwyneth Paltrow rocking a hot pink custom Valentino gown
Rooney Mara looking sultry in Givenchy
The older Fanning sister Dakota prevails in a sexy peek-a-boo Rodarte number
Cameron Diaz looked statuesque in this gorgeous grape Stella McCartney gown
Kerry Washington looked super cutting-edge chic in custom Vera Wang
Sienna Miller perfectly combined sexy femininity with a badass rocker edge in a white Burberry gown and a cropped studded moto jacket
Nina Dobrev was probably my favorite of the night. This is her best look yet, she definitely pulled off her edgy bustier custom Monique Lhuillier dress/jumper. Epitome of punk couture.
For someone who prides herself in being so punk Miley Cyrus kind of shat the bed with this awkward nude/mesh Marc Jacobs dress.
Kristen Stewart looked awkward and creepy in a Stella McCartney jumper.
Elle Fanning is known for her fashion risks, and they usually never turn out well, and this Rodarte dress was no exception. Learn some style Elle.
