For my first mac n cheese post, i decided to go with an original recipe as a starting ground before i get crazy with my recipes. What is this recipe? Non other than the one my mama taught me. Pretty basic really, just start out as if your making a white sauce (butter, flour, and milk), then as the sauce begins to form, add some nutmeg, pepper, and no salt yet because cheese gives it enough. Then start piling in the fromage. I used a mix of jack, cheddar, and some cumin gouda for extra taste. (side note: my own personal twist for making yummy mac n cheese is to sprinkle some cumin at the end and mix it in for a good kick.) And to finish off I sliced a few mushrooms and viola….
