2015 Academy Awards: Red Carpet Style

The Oscars red carpet in one word: White. Many people are wondering why the hell 95% of the ladies are donning white or creme colored gowns. This year has already bored the shit out of me due to the lack of coloration. But here’s a look at some of the fashion from tonight:

2014 Met Gala: Best Dressed

The annual Met Gala is my favorite event and the biggest fashion event of the year. This year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art honored designer, Charles James, known as ‘America’s first couturier.’ There were some beautiful looks this year, with a lot of people exuding the old school classiness that Charles James represents. Here’s a look at my choice of the best dressed ladies of the evening.

2013 Met Gala: Best Dressed and Biggest Flops

This  year’s Met Gala had a theme that I especially loved and was super excited to see how everyone would interpret it. The theme of course was Punk: Chaos to Couture. Badass. One of the most common names circulating the red carpet were none other than Givenchy. Givenchy exudes that dark gothic chic style that totally fit in with the theme. And while some stars thrived with their punk-inspired couture, others either completely failed or just did not understand the theme itself. Here are a few of my favorites and some of the lamest.

Fails:

For someone who prides herself in being so punk Miley Cyrus kind of shat the bed with this awkward nude/mesh Marc Jacobs dress.

My 52 Hours in Portland

Well, let me just say I was hoping to enjoy my short two days here in Portland, getting all my things and being able to relax in my own space, however I ended up having a pretty shit time. Reminded me why I left to begin with. Anyway, I leave today, thank god, so here’s a little brief overview of my time here…

Burger for Brunch at some place I don’t remember the name of downtown Portland. Super fucking portlandy tho: Burger with gruyere cheese, avocados, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, weird tasting pickles, and a side of herb fries w/ basil aioli…Not bad but since there was no food at my house I took home the fries so I could later eat those for dinner.

Later that night, I finally got to wear my beautiful doc’s after four months of being apart. It was an emotional moment for me. Those boots make me.

I look like a Disney princess, right? Well I got bored and found some of my mom’s old dresses from the 80’s so I played a little dress up…(btw please ignore the cat shaped toilet paper holder in the background, my only full length mirror is in my bathroom facing the toilet, so I can enjoy my own company while I’m peeing. Don’t judge.)

Pretty itchy, but it has a nice vintage chic look to it with the whole long sleeve paired with the drop-waist. I felt pretty chic.

My final meal in Portland: of course, my New Season’s noodles; noodles with zucchini, squash, mushrooms, baby corn, bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, all covered in my favorite peanut sauce with a side of rice so I could again have extra food for a meal later in the night since, no edible food resides in my kitchen.

VMA’s: What the Stars Wore

Here you go bitches, for all you who are either too lazy to watch or give a shit about the VMA’s. I personally just like to see what all of these celebs wear…

Rihanna in a lovely white gown.

Katy Perry in an Elie Saab sheer gown.

Rita Ora in a Customized Emilio Pucci creation.

Taylor Swift in a J. Mendel suit,

Miley Cyrus rockin her new ‘do in Emilio Pucci

Nicki Minaj in a lacey bodysuit.

Emma Watson in a graphic mini.

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose cradling her baby bump.

Kat Gr.aham in a sexy maroon satiny suit, with a leopard bustier

Ne-Yo arriving in a military-inspired ensemble.

Ke$ha looking ever so tame.

Jessica Szohr in a black bustier, form-fitting gown.

More to come!

Topshop at Nordstrom!

So I was just informed that the insanely popular and amazing British company, Topshop has just set a deal with Seattle-based Nordstrom to carry their clothes at selective locations and online. I’m particularly excited because Topshop is one of my favorite stores, and it sucks that the only locations in America are thousands of miles away. I can’t wait, Topshop is the epitome of trendy and chic. Nordstrom will also be selling clothes from Topman, so even guys get some. Click on the high-lighted links for Nordstrom and Topshop to check out their sites.
