First non-frozen meal in a veeery long time…

Today I ran out of Safeway Select frozen meals, so I decided to actually cook a real meal. I made some pasta with a tomatoey sauce with some mushrooms and a bit of cream cheese to make it a little creamier. Anyway, it turned out pretty good I guess, however I made too much spaghetti, so I had some extra that I couldn’t finish. So here’s the making of my meal, which I am quite proud of…

My ingredients: Safeway Select sun dried tomato and olive sauce, whole wheat spaghetti, mushrooms, olive oil, parmesan cheese, and cream cheese (not pictured)

The final product...yummy

A Real Burger

So tonight my sister stopped at New Seasons, my favorite store and picked me up and yummy nummy burger. The way it works with sandwiches there is you fill out a form saying which meat, bread, sauces, cheese, and veggies you want. Pretty genius idea. So i got a cheeseburger with cheddar, ketchup, mustard, chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and avocados on a ciabbata roll (since they were out of the kaiser)….and also a pickle on the side.

Fall TV Reviews: New Shows on the CW

Every fall new shows are created and only very few are renewed for another season and some barely even make it past a few episodes. This season I started watching a couple new shows on the CW. Once I heard that two of my favorite television actors were starring in their own shows I got super excited. First, the new show Ringer, which stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, who I grew up watching in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my ultimate favorite show. And second, The Hart of Dixie, which stars Rachel Bilson, who everyone loved on the O.C.

Sarah Michelle Gellar stars in CW's Ringer

Ringer, is about a recovering drug addict, Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar), who witnesses a murder, and out of fear seeks out her estranged identical twin sister, Siobhan (also Sarah Michelle Gellar). Once she does, Siobhan disappears, leaving Bridget to believe her dead, thus taking over her identity and kushy life on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The show is surprisingly intriguing and mysterious. Siobhan is still alive and on the other side of the world trying to mess with Bridget, which makes me curious as to what her true intentions are and keeps me watching every Tuesday night at 9pm on the CW. (Also starring Ioan Gruffudd, Kristoffer Polaha, and Nestor Carbonell)

Rachel Bilson stars in CW's Hart of Dixie

The Hart of Dixie, is about a young doctor, Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), who moves to the middle of nowhere to take over a medical practice her father left her after he passed. The New York City native tries hard to blend in with the southern culture in this cute show about a girl trying to get to know herself and find her heart in what she does. There are a number of potential love interests for Hart and it’s fun to watch all the sexual tension. Though it sounds cheesey, Bilson is lovable and fashionable as always and I keep watching to see what other quirky things she’ll do to embarrass herself more every Monday night at 9pm, only on the CW. (Also starring Jaime King, Scott Porter, Cress Williams, and Wilson Bethel)

Versace for H&M Countdown

Ten days til Versace opens up her collection for H&M. How many of you guys are planning on going? I know my sister and her friends are about to wake up at the crack of dawn to stand in line for hours just to be some of the first people to get their hands on the clothes. So is it really worth it? My opinion, not really. I’m not a huge fan of Versace, I think her clothes are a bit loud and tacky. I saw the collection and was like ok, some of the stuff is nice, but still not that cheap and I don’t see anything I want so I’m not down to go. I did however go to Jimmy Choo for H&M a couple years ago. I waited for like two hours and by the time I got to see any of the stuff, they didn’t have my size in any of the shoes, but I still managed to grab a purse and a few studded bracelets. So for me, Choo was worth it. On the other hand, H&M’s designer lines are always pretty expensive and range in the hundreds of dollars price, whereas Target has been providing high-end designers for a number of years and has the best price. I bought two Alexander McQueen shirts for only 20 bucks each, and about three times a year they have awesome collections at the perfect price.

Here’s a look at a few of the nicer things in Versace’s H&M collection:

Silk Dress, $199

Silk dress, $149

Leather jacket, $299

Blazer, $149

Steaks

Tonight my sister and I decided to make some meat. We were both so hungry we probably would’ve eaten it raw. So my sister chopped up some zucchinis and sauteed their green asses with onions and garlic til they were perfectly crunchy. On the other side, I chopped up some mushrooms and sauteed them with balsamic vinegar and some herbs til they soaked it all up. Then I put our two juicy babies on the pan with some olive oil and let them cook for a bit. Here are our successful results…
